AREAS of CONCERN

Eye smile lines

These fine lines that occur around the eyes are due to loss of volume as well as diminished skin collagen levels. Treatments vary depending on the underlying cause, they include anti wrinkle injections, skin boosters and under eye filler.

  • Smoking – this can make lines appear darker and deeper; it causes blood vessels near the top layer of skin to become narrow, which limits the moisture and nutrients that skin has access to.

Sun exposure – we all know the dangers of UV exposure and sunburn, but for delicate under-eye skin, it can be even more damaging, causing pigment producing cells to mature abnormally, making you look older prematurely (UV exposure is said to account for around 90% of ageing)

Poor skin care – if under-eye skin is not kept moisturised, the chances of lines appearing deeper and more pronounced increase dramatically, as lack of moisture can make skin parched and therefore more lined

Genetics – wrinkles around the eyes can be hereditary, generally passed down from father to son and mother to daughter, but only in regards to the point in life at which wrinkles start to appear.

Neck Lines

Increased use of technology has caused more people be bothered by lines on the neck. Usually the best treatment for these are a combination of Skin boosters, anti wrinkle injections and sometimes soft tissue filler

  • After a thorough consultation an individualised plan is made based on a combination of your desired outcomes and unique anatomy. A series of painless injections are used to deliver tiny doses of botulinum toxin into a few select facial muscles. After a few days you will start to notice the desired results with full outcomes visible at 2-4 weeks after treatment. Most anti-wrinkle treatments last between 3-5 months.

Sagging Jawline

Descending tissue and fat distribution changes in the mid face alongside general facial bone changes with increased age can lead to a heavy appearance in the lower face which effects the chin and jawline sharpness. Usually soft tissue filler is used to give the appearance of a subtle lift as well as camouflaging shadows to give a refreshed appearance.

Nose to Mouth Lines

Changes in the cheek volume alongside bony changes around the nose and mouth can cause shadows to form between the nose and mouth called nasolabial folds. Using small amounts of soft tissue filler to replace volume loss can help reduce the appearance of these lines giving a refreshed, age appropriate appearance.

Mouth to Chin Lines

As we age, our chin and jaw bones get smaller and the fat around the lips diminishes. This alongside fat redistribution creating jowles can cause shadows and a heavy appearance in the lower face. By replacing a small amount of volume in these ‘marionette lines’ and shin can help soften shadows and slim the lower face.

Thin lips

As one of the defining features in the face, thin lips can affect confidence. Lip volume is easy to increase with soft tissue filler in a natural way when individual ratios and proportions are measured and respected.

Lip lines

Fat loss around the lips causes increases appearance of fine line around the mouth, a combination of anti-wrinkle injections and very small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler can help support and hydrate the skin, softening the appearance of these lines in a natural way

Forehead & Frown Lines

Collagen and elastin start to deplete in our early 20s and so forehead and frown lines are often the first signs of aging we notice. They can make us look angry and tired when we are not. Anti wrinkle injections, skin boosters and microneedling are all good treatments to soften these types of lines.

Sagging Eyelids

The cause of sagging eyelids is quite complex and different for each person. It can be caused by skin laxity and bone and fat volume loss around the eye, temples and forehead. This often requires a combination of treatments including anti wrinkle injections and filler and in some cases a referral to surgery is the best option. Book a consultation so that one of our doctors can discuss your options.

Under Eye Shadows

Dark circles under the eyes can be caused by a few different things and so a treatment plan requires an individualised approach. Skin pigment, under eye volume loss and thinning skin showing underlying veins can all contribute to a tired under eye. Skin care, peels and needling are options for some causes and volume loss can be treated by tear trough filler in appropriate cases. Book a consultation with one of our doctors so they can examine the causes and together you can come up with a treatment plan that addresses your issues but is within your budget.

Dull Skin

Ageing skin often looks tired and dull due to sluggish cell turnover, enlarged pores and uneven texture and pigment. Skin treatments such as peels, daily skin care, microneedling and skin boosters are all great ways of addressing tired looking skin.

Flat Cheek Bones

Flat cheeks is something that can bother people at any stage of life. The bone and fat loss associated with ageing often make this problem worse and so restoration of these features with soft tissue fillers is a quick and subtle way of freshening the appearance of the face.

Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating from the armpits and hands is a common problem and can result in feeling self conscious and can really get in the way of daily life. Antiwrinkle injections is a safe and effective treatment for sweating and it can really make a big difference to quality of life. We advise that before seeking treatment with us that you get your GP to screen for other causes of excessive sweating in the rare instance that there is an underlying condition to address first.

Aged Hands

Crepey, thin skin with visible tendons and vessels can bother us as we get older as it can be out of proportion with visible ageing of the face. Skin boosters and small amounts of natural hyaluronic acid fillers can help restore age related volume loss and skin treatments such as peels can help with age spots and uneven texture.

Crepey Skin

Collagen and elastin loss in the skin can lead to unwanted texture and wrinkles in the face, neck, decolletage and hands. Skin boosters, sculptra, microneedling and in some areas anti wrinkle injections can help improve skin laxity and rough texture that can happen as we get older.

Skin Pigmentation

Sun damage, hormone changes and general skin ageing often results in un-even pigmentation on the skin. This can be stubborn to treat and we recommend a bespoke treatment plan to address hyperpigmentation including daily skin care and in clinic treatments such as peels, mesotherapy and microneedling.
